The Egyptian Cthulhu, has been based loosely on representations of the Goddess Tawaret. Her appearance as part hippo, part lion, and part crocodile seemed to echo the combination of different forms that Lovecraft used to make up Cthulhu.
Cobweb, our slightly derranged Artist loves the idea of seeing how Cthulhu would have been interpreted by different ancient cultures. Not only is it a way for him to experiment with different sculptural styles, but it blurs the line between fact and fiction in a way he particularly enjoys.
